Minutes: April 8th, 2001 (fwd) by Cassia On this beautiful day in April, HRSFA appropriated Sever 110, without any official sanction whatsoever, to discuss matters of sundry importance. The meeting was short, but great fun. First on the Agenda was the timing of the Myld Hunt and Spring Party. We decided to hold them on the same day, probably May 5th. Kirkland C-21 (Josh, Kevin, and Neil) *cough* volunteered their room for the party. We discussed the adjourning for croquet and tea in Radcliffe Yard that never actually seems to happen. Would any quadling like to take responsibility for reserving a piece of the yard? More importantly, we need a fox and a huntmaster. (If you weren't at the meeting, you missed a wonderful rendition by Neil of the glories of being a fox. Apparently, it's not to be missed, if you are interested.) For some reason, there was objection to appointing people who weren't in the room, so if you're interested, do speak up. Evathon! yay Eva! Very, very cool series. If you haven't seen it, you suck. (I haven't seen it; I suck.) The remedy is available this Saturday, with a joint HRSFA/Harvard Anime Society Neon Genesis Evangelion Marathon. Some scheduling issies are still being resolved, but we have all the tapes, subtitled. Give Tony mad props if you see him, for handling a whole bunck of cantankerous HRSFAns and HAS'ers. If you can't come to the whole thing, feel free to join later. I am told that there is a respectable recap episode halfway through the series, and the later episodes are really the more important one. Claudia, in a discussion of possible starting times: "If you all have boring Circadian rhytms, that's not my fault." The Going of the Hour happened over spring break. The Sacred ice cream was consumed from Store 23, and a clock was not burnt. The current Grand Poobah is acting in Utopia these couple of weeks. At least two people have gone to see him, and were totally delighted with the performance. They offer this blatant plug, that people should definitely go see the show. Buffy SIG starts up again April 17th, with new episodes. The showing of all of Season 1 was fun, and a showing of season 2 will try to be organized by the end of the year. Unfortunately, good enough quality tapes are a problem. BBC SIG is starting on the final episodes of Blake 7. It's really getting good.... We discussed two currently empty positions, librarian and historian. Bryn will be sending out some a more extensive email detailing the position, but if you are interested please let her know. All current HRSFA historical accounts are woefully out of date. It would be very cool to have a historian to get some current text on the webpage... say... mentioning Vericon? You wouldn't need to everything about HRSFA, just be willing to talk and do some write-ups. There is a fair bit of library work to be done in the next year, so more than one person could be doing this work. We need to clean up the online catalog, write up some tax stuff for the old Ciaraldi book donation, reconcile the card catalog with the online catalog with the actualy books. (The card catalog might actually be discarded at some point soon). Claudia is willing to help people with either position. If you're interested, email Bryn. (bneuensch@fas) Vericon - the Return. So, Arisia moved up a weekend in January, a week before us, and so, Genericon moved to our weekend in response. That means more competition, which means we need to get in gear to make this year even better. People are contemplating an eventual move to Spring Break. Fatima has mentioned that this move would have the added advantage of being able to get MassFilk to hold their monthly meeting at Vericon. Gaming SIG: 1) A dragon ransacked a city in Alan Sert's D&D game. "Oddly enough, people know what to do next." -Ender 2) A new game of manipulation was offered for playing. Italian noble familiess vying for the esteem of the Doge, in order to become members of the governing elite. 3) There will be a mini Game-A-Thon during prefrosh indoctrination weekend. (At the meeting it was announced as 6 pm Fri - 9 pm Sat. This in now untrue.) It will go from 12 Fri (after M&C) until 12 Sat. Of course, noone else force you to stop. Milk and Cookies will occur on Friday night from 9pm till 12ish in the Leverett JCR. (The meeting announced it as Saturday, but we could not get the room.) We adjourned to the wiles of Gaming Sig, which completely ruined my study schedule for all eternity (or at least, for three days). -Cassia (soooo excited for EVA it's not funny)
