Minutes: 03/29/01 -by Cassia We never heard from University Hall one way or the other about Sever 110, and I incorrectly assumed it would be free, as usual, for us to take. Unfortunately, somebody else was there, so we met instead on the steps of Memorial Hall, with the descending sun shedding its blessing on us. Spring is beautiful in Cambridge. Items of business: The Myld Hunt will be at 3:00 pm this Saturday. The huntmaster is Charles, huntmistress is Moira. Rebecca is the fox, "through the power of peer pressure" according to Dennis, "through the power of the scarlet dress" according to Claudia. Tom declined the position of "honorary huntmistress," which was presented by Kyle. More specific details will be forthcoming; Starr (starr@fas) invited anyone with questions to talk with her. The Spring Party will be held this Saturday in Kirkland C-21 (home of Neil, Kevin, and Josh) at 8 o'9. (Otherwise knows as 8:52 - you probably don't care why. The time is according to Kevin's clock, which he is free to change, so it's all guesswork, anyway.) There will _not_ be a scavenger hunt, but there will be food, specific requests for which should go to the officers (and are encouraged). The officers have decided that we support the SPS (Society for Physics Students), "up to and including being their rivals." As such, we have been presented two options, both of which can easily happen.. 1> We have reserved the 2nd (and ??) floor of Sever on May 13, for a game of Capture the Flag with stuff with SPS. 2)Another offered option was a battle royale (NOT a war) with them, involving water guns and the Harvard campus. (Nerfs guns were also suggested as more readily available.) This response to "To Battle?" was a resounding "Yay!", so this sounds very possible. A request is hereby sent out for anyone willing to write an epic declaration of battle. (Send to dclark or bneuensc) Any languages are good, but Latin and English are preferrable; the best of 'em will be used to rouse the masses. We have librarians and a historian! Yay! The lovely Erin Larkspur has agreed to be our historian, and we have Susan Long, Rebecca McKeown, Dan Barlett, and Ram Gowda volunteering to do library stuff. As there is much to be done, Bryn decided there was no reason to select just one person. Luckily for us, both Rebecca and Susan are in Pfo-ho, so they can do the more physical library work. Dan and Ram will probably be involved in cleaning up the online catalog (http://www.hcs.harvard.edu/~hrsfa/library), and cataloging the Ciaraldi book donations (hopefully before the end of the fiscal year). SIG Reports: Buffy is still happening! There will be a second season Marathon on two days during the end of year. They are definitely on for the 20th, but are still deciding on a second date (as Capture the Flag with Stuff w/ SPS is interfering with their previous plans.) Milk and Cookies happened. They had Milk. And Cookies. But no fire. There will be another before the end of the year. Writer's SIG will not have a meeting Monday (tomorrow) as everyone has tons of papers due. B5 is finishing up in the next couple of weeks, seeking the climax of the epic. "Notables Sig reported" BBC Sig is also building up to the finale. Anime Sig had an EVAthon in conjuction with HAS; "it was AWESOME." If anyone has yet to see Neon Genesis Evangelion, do it. It's worth every minute. Sarah Darling says that "There's something very intimate about mass destruction." If anyone wants to borrow tapes, Tony (avila@fas) has them all dubbed, and is willing to lend them out. And the meeting adjourned to Gaming Sig, which is going on RIGHT NOW in Dudley House for those interested. Good night all, and good luck with the end of the year, -Cassia
