Minutes: The Last Two Meetings. [2/22, 2/29.] From: Michael Richard Von Korff Date: Sun Mar 07 2004 - 01:46:02 PST --------------------------------------------------- Ye Olde Minutes. Olde, as in old, because I thought I could get away with pretending I couldn't read Chris' handwriting for awhile. But now that NonCons are coming up, the HRSFA electorate has a right to know the State of its Union, so... ** The first elections meeting ** Sunday, Feb. 22 ** Actually, I don't think this meeting ever really happened, because I don't remember it. Oh, wait, that's because I blotted it out of my brain by repeatedly stabbing myself with a can opener. I do, however, have some quotes: "Note that I'm standing behind the desk. Because that's the kind of candidate I am." --Warren Kartik: "I have a math thesis, and... thank God for math." Chris: "Have you bought the poster board yet?" "I'm the happy co-chair!" --Michael. As you all know because you are alive and receive announce emails, Kaitlin and Elizabeth were elected co-chairs. ** The second elections meeting ** Sunday, Feb. 29 ** MASQ: -Is Friday, March 12th. Make a costume, and it better be cool. On the other hand, who'll be DJing? And will someone bring the Lord of the Rings soundtrack? I have no idea. In an attempt to cause Kaitlin to become clinically insane, we decided to hold SIG announcements in alphabetical order. We succeed only partially. Bizarreness: -There was Capture the Flag in Widener. It was *awesome*. We'll try it again in a month or two. -The Great Blank Paper Pass-Out. -All hail the Swimmy Fish, who will hold dark and mysterious rituals at the full moon. Build Stuff and Blow it Up: -Why is it "Build Shit and Blow Stuff Up" instead of "Build Stuff and Blow Shit up"? The world will never know. -It will become an official SIG and get its $5 once Ed gathers a list of 8 members. First project: Coil gun. Second project: the next Metal Gear. CIG: New Angel and Smallville; Sweeps are over. Etc, etc. Cool Movie: Last week-- Run Lola Run. This week-- Trainspotting. [Ed. note: "This week" = last week. It boggles the mind, doesn't it?] Firefly: -More episodes Thursday night. [But that's "this" Thursday, which again is last Thursday. Writing old minutes is almost as good as travelling through time! Only no danger of going steady with your mother.] Anne of Green Gables: Late Monday night. Gaming: There will be no gaming this week.* Baking: Is out of order slightly, but shall be a SIG. Milk and Cookies: -Was Saturday, and may return the weekend before spring break. MST3k: -Showed "Dead Talk Back". Sorry about that. More episodes are on the way from Jason's friends. Although with friends who show "Dead Talk Back", who needs enemies? ...no, seriously, the next episodes will be just great. Stargate: Two-for-one "this" Friday. [Which was last Friday.] Star Trek: Looking for a time. Video Games: Jason plays those! RPGs: -Dev would like to play some My Life with Master. Cool. -The Dark Ages campaign is over. Warren killed himself, then died. -Speaking of Warren, Warren is going to run a campaign next year. -Speaking of "run", Henri is going to run a one-shot. -Speaking of "one-shot", Kaitlin's going to run one, too. -Speaking of "too", your mamma's too ugly, so she has to wear a paper bag over her head or else when she walks down the street people will try to give her paper bags to put over her head. -Speaking of your "mamma", I'll State your mom's Union! Zing! Writer's SIG: -Loves people. It takes place Monday nights in Elizabeth's room. Two weeks ago, *nine* people showed up. Or maybe only one showed up and wrote a story about the other eight. Either way, writing is fun. Potential SIGs: -Lovecraft? [Warren.] Cthulu seconds the idea of a Lovecraft SIG. -Real Magic? [Emily.] Real Magic SIG banishes Cthulu. -Stating the Obvious SIG would like to state that Cthulu begins with the letter "C". *That was a joke. Gaming is All the Fucking Time. --Michael Von Korff --Infernal Secretary _______________________________________________ hrsfa-announce mailing list hrsfa-announce@lists.hcs.harvard.edu http://lists.hcs.harvard.edu/mailman/listinfo/hrsfa-announce
