Minutes 3/14/04 From: Michael Richard Von Korff Date: Sun Mar 14 2004 - 22:33:18 PST --------------------------------------------------- TO BEGIN, A DUAL NOTION... Let it be not only duly noted but "noted duly" that Vincent was knighted Webmaster of HRSFA. MASQUE Let it be recalled that about 48 hours ago we had a masque, and it was fun. LARPS Warren is looking to run his MGS LARP sometime in May. The date's malleable. Kaitlin wants all GMs of things next year to email her so's everyone can set up a time to meet and work out any scheduling conflicts. GOING OF THE HOUR We will deliver the Hour that we received this past autumn back up to Chronos the night of Saturday, April 3rd (moving into the early morning of Sunday, April 4th). That's spring break-- sad sad sad sad. Ah, well-- Chronos works in mysterious ways. The Going of the Hour will procede, and perhaps those of us not present for the main ceremony will be able to worship Him in their hearts, spreading His divine message among the peoples in their own lands, as the Hour returns to the heavens. All hail Chronos. THE HUNT The Myld Hunt is apparently in a state of civil war. But a very civilized and British civil war, so not to worry-- the Hunt will take place near the end of April-- probably noon on the 18th. As always, we will stroll about and maybe hunt a fox. THE SPRING PARTY Will also be taking place in April. My, but my weekends are going to be booked next month. The party may be in the quad. That's all I know. BLOCKING PARTY This'll be Wednesday night the week before spring break. It'll be fun-- if you like last meals before executions. I only hope I don't get quadded. (Kidding!) TREASURER Yves will pay people who have receipts for expenses related to Vericon and such. If you don't have a receipt for an expense that HRSFA owes you, email Yves and beg him very sweetly for the money. VERICON -- Kartik : "There is a Con!" Some old Vericoners met today and discussed the 2004 Con. They concluded that it was the best Con ever and that they should all get raises and stock options, then realized that VeriCon isn't incorporated. Also: Send Kartik apps for Vericon board positions if you're interested in choosing which thankless, time-consuming role you'll play in Vericon 2005. Otherwise, you can wait until next fall and let Kartik assign the thankless, time-consuming role get assigned to you. VERICON GUESTS Tell Kartik about your guest ideas! Email him a lot! Quantity over quality! Guests, guests, guests! BIZARRENESS SIG ...will have a Great Blank Paper pass-out on Wednesday. Email Matt if you're interested. ...will soon be playing a game of 1000 White Cards. The Order will rise on Saturday at midnight. And when I say "The Order," I don't mean the one that has the Dark Pope. I mean the Order of Swimmy Fish, which will meet at the sundial to complete its mysterious and silly rituals. COOL MOVIE SIG: ...already picked a movie, but decided not to tell anyone what it is yet. As always, Tuesday 9pm in Lowell. Last week's film was Zero Effect, which was very cool. AUDIO RECORDING SIG Doesn't actually exist. But according to Claudia, it has a tape of Orson Scott Card's musical. If this intrigues you, go stick your head in a bucket. Or talk to Claudia. GAMING SIG Gaming happens all the gosh-darn time. But Dev has amnesia, so bla bla bla Diplomacy bla bla bla nobody cares bla bla Tony lost all his supply centers last turn bla bla. REAL MAGIC SIG Made an alethiometer. I think Emily has it-- if she does, I'm going to ask her where all of my missing socks are. STARGATE Vincent: "Hi, guys, I'm Chris Doucette." The sig will watch the final two episodes of Stargate on Friday. SMALLVILLE Vincent: "Now I'm Vincent." SmallvIG = Lowell, Wednesday nights, 8pm. It's going to show the first season to all of the cute li'l freshmen, and anyone else who wants to come. Yay! STAR TREK Anthropology 121, this sci fi class we've all been hearing about, will be showing an episode (or two) of Star Trek either this Friday or next Friday, at 11 am. FIREFLY ...will shift into an every-other-week schedule to accomodate Anne of Green Gables. ANIME ...is very, very disappointed with all the people at the Masque who didn't know what Utena was. (My God, I hope I spelled that right, or I'm in for a world of hurt.) So it'll watch some Ootenna very soon. MST3k Game Over "may be the worst movie ever." So, of course, MST3k is going to be watching it this week, because that's what MST3k does. MAGIC ...played some Magic, had fun. Will play more Magic. Specifically, Warren hopes to play some Magic that costs money soon, because he likes to give away green pieces of paper. WRITER'S SIG ...will meet at 10:05pm, Monday [today!], in Elizabeth's room. There will also be an 8:00 prewriting session, same location. So you have no excuse for not showing up. VIDEO GAME SIG It purchased some game. The game is, like, Metal Gear Soild-- Twin Snakes. Or something. The game is very easy. (So's your mom.) Charles-SIG Is adjourning for awhile. See you later, Charles-SIG! By the way, Jason, Charles, and Tony are sucking through Kartik's soul. MILK AND COOKIES Will meet beside the fire on Friday, from 10pm to 1am; madrigals will be sung at 9pm. Bring your favorite short stories, novels, stuffed animals, baby blankets, friends, and casual acquaintances. BAKING SIG Made pie! (Or should I say "pi"?) Thank you, baking SIG! It was scrumptious. The SIG will bake cookies on Friday before Stargate and serve them at Milk and Cookies. NONCONS ...made me so tired that it'll take me awhile to get the results out (hopefully within the next 60 minutes, though). Suffice to say that I am still the prettiest. :) <-- A smiley. Or maybe it's a deranged cabana boy on stilts. I can't tell, I'm too tired. Sniffle.
