Meeting Minutes From: Michael Richard Von Korff Date: Sun Feb 06 2005 - 21:39:43 PST OFFICER NOMINATIONS MEETING ---Item 1: VeriKartik.--- VeriCon made a profit. Yay VeriCon! There will be a second post-mortem meeting on Wednesday. Emily: "This is the post-pre-post-mortem meeting!" Kartik: "If anyone has concerns, complaints, qualms, or quandaries about VeriCon 2005, email them to me and I'll promptly ignore them." ---Item 2: Stuff We Did.--- Chris went to Canada. There's a Sin City movie a-comin' up. Just so y'all know. Also, anyone who wants to see Hotel Rwanda or other such depressing cinematic fare, email The Man at venkatr@fas.harvard.edu. ---Stuff We're Going to Do.--- There's a Myld Hunt some time in our future. We'll stroll about like jolly gents and ladies, possibly chasing a fox. It'll be dandy. The Going of the Hour, in which we (All Hail Chronos!) celebrate the end of "Daylight Savings Time", will take place early Sunday morning at the end of spring break. (That's the night of April 2nd and the morning of the 3rd, for those of you who want to schedule around the Hour.) The Ides of March will take place on May 7th. ...er, March 15th. Yeah. We'll kill Caesar and all that fun stuff. Conbust: Smith College has a Con that runs April 1st to 3rd, at the end of spring break. I hear it's a pretty 1334 convention (or at least kinda 1\/|(3. Zing!) ---Stuff We Might Do: KartiCon.--- Kartik: "David Mack... could not come this year due to French problems." The vote to hold VeriCon in 2006 passed unanimously, with the exception of a 'nay' vote from Kartik's right leg. ---SIGs--- SmallVIG [Vincent]: On Wednesday, Clark gets recruited for college football. (8pm) Stargate [Chris]: SG1 runs Fridays at 8pm, followed by Atlantis at 9. Also, whenever Chris watches cartoons, he promises to tell us. Video Games [Chris]: ...will no longer be contained in Quincy 311. Cool Movies: Will be watching a movie TBD on Wednesday at 9. Magic [Dave]: Drafted last night. Rumor has it that Lamont will soon receive two boxes of Betrayers of Kamigawa. That means more drafting. Hot. Star Trek [Dave]: Enterprise is cancelled. Apparently, there is a God. Battlestar Galactica: Kartik: "It's somehow a wonderful and creepy, creepy show." Emily: "And we have about 2000 keychains advertising it." The show runs Fridays at 10, during Gaming SIG. Dave: "They're releasing MacGyver on DvD. Does this make anyone else as happy as it makes me?" Everyone: "No!" Michael: "But I'm happy anyway..." Mst3k [Matt]: Still in existence. The SIG will alternate between watching old episodes of MST and reviewing bad, bad movies for future MiSTation. Bizarreness [Matt]: Future activities include ballroom dancing during red lights, on Mass Ave., and not playing Capture the Flag in Widener. Again. (If you're not interested in playing Capture the Flag in Widener, email Matt.) Library [Elisabeth]: Matt and Elisabeth and whoever else is interested are cleaning out the library. (There's still a large nest of vampire gnus hiding out somewhere in the comics section.) Gaming [Cody]: 10pm, Fridays. Baking [Cody]: Still has additional marzipan left over. If you're interested in marzipanning (or is that "panning for marz"?), talk to Cody. Chris: "Is there eating SIG?" Elisabeth: "I think it meets fairly frequently." Writers' SIG/Fusion [Elisabeth]: Fusion may be published online and monthly starting next year. If you're interested in discussing the future of Fusion, it wouldn't hurt to talk to Ed. Also, Writers' SIG is beginning a collaborative writing project in which members partner up to give each other encouragement and critique. Talk to Warren for more info. Medieval Gaming [Elisabeth]: This month, crazy variants on Medieval Chess. In Pfoho, on the last Tuesday of the month. Elisabeth: "You know you all want to be there. Except for those of you who don't." ---RPGs:--- Vincent's running a Marvel RPG. The system ran at VeriCon with much success. He'll be GMing a several-session, role-playing-heavy campaign, with dates and times TBA. No knowledge of the Marvel universe will be necessary for those in the campaign. (Though it'd help to know what a "superhero" is.) Matt and Warren will be running an Exalted game. They have enough characters, but NPCs are welcome in this White Wolf game of anime-style mayhem and hot, hot sex with Chippendales dancers. (You're not really still reading these minutes, are you?) Tyler will be running a weekly or every-other-week, four to five player Shadowrun game, starting after his and Kaitlins' AD&D game ends. Kaitlin will be running a "Mystery RPG" starting in April for people with too much time on their hands. ---Yves Wants To Give YOU Money--- If you have receipts for which Yves can reimburse you, get in touch with him. He lives to shower others with HRSFA's riches. ---Officer Nominations--- Matt: "You just got nominated for Infernal, Exfernal, and co-Chair. Do you want to decline any of--" Alexa: "What the fuck?" Officers have been nominated. You can check out the website for a list of nominations; to nominate someone for a new position or to decline a nomination, email me. Note that nominations must have a second, and the deadline for nominations is next Sunday at 8:02pm. And speaking of new officers... guess who's running for Infernal? Not me! Which means... ...these are my last minutes. I hope I've been particularly evil and terrible. And malicious. Or at least cute.
