Meeting Minutes. Also, meeting seconds. From: Elena Udovina Date: Sun Apr 10 2005 - 18:25:01 PDT ---AGENDA--- 1. Meeting 2. Kick Matt in the head. Kick Matt and Mauro and Kowarsky on the head. Kick EVERYONE in the head. Kick EVERYONE but me. 3. Burninate. 4. Eat Munchies. ---UPCOMING EVENTS--- Myld Hunt this Saturday (the 16th), some time TBA in the early afternoon. Please come in proper hunting attire, i.e. as Victorian as you can. A tux will do as hunting attire. Will be followed by Milk and Cookies. Masque on Saturday 4/23, 9pm - midnight Prefrosh weekend - Saturday 4/30 - we are doing a gaming marathon, followed by MST3K, followed by Milk and Cookies. We are also going to see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy at some point that is not Sunday. We will buy tickets in advance. The Lowell House Waltz is at 6am (that really is am and not pm) on Sunday May 1; Kaitlin plans to go. ---VERICON--- Is bringing in George RR Martin, as well as Tim from Ctrl-Alt-Del. Vericon plans to recruit people from outside of HRSFA. Emily's response to people's objections: 1. She expects O(2) people from this, so no, we won't be diluting HRSFA too much 2. She won't be giving Vericon away to anybody else, so flakiness is ok. They can't match HRSFA flakiness anyway. Talk to Emily if you have opinions on the subject. ---SIG Reports--- Killing the Officers SIG killed Noam and Elisabeth. HRSFA sends its beloved departed posthumous love. Gaming SIG will go back to its usual schedule, though it doesn't know where yet. Baking SIG wants to make scones for the Myld Hunt, but it doesn't know who wants to make them. At the moment it seems that either Kaitlin or I will take care of it [Kaitlin: I can do it on Saturday morning, I'm just dubious that it will involve more than one person being there...] Magic SIG says that Warren's thesis. Will draft soon, and wants to do something other than a Champions-Champions-Betrayers. Lamont had some sort of a preference, but it sounded like utter gibberish to me, so I'll assume it was. Cool Movies SIG will watch Cassherl, an allegedly-awesome Japanese movie involving killer robots. Bizarreness SIG observed that yesterday in the Lowell courtyard people were experimenting with how high they could get a helium balloon to rise on a party string. Bizarreness SIG also called itself to complain of difficulties with self and picked up. Marriage SIG would like to announce that Noam and Tyler will get married at some point. SmallVIG is making a return that involves Alexander in some fashion that went over my head. MST3K apologized for attempting to impersonate as officers and having been dead. They watched Half Past Dead last time they met, and still plan to watch Manos: the Hands of Fate, this time with a different DVD player. They plan to do The Order at prefrosh weekend, and to rehearse it at some point between now and then. Chris SIG would like to point out that Claverly JCR is better than the Lowell Grille, in that it doesn't smell of fish and its TV works. Cartoons SIG will meet (or will have met, perhaps) tonight. Old Stargate episodes will happen at some point. Video Gaming SIG had a game cube on the wall at spring party. RPG - Kaitlin's Set Theory RPG will start soon. If one more person wants to join, they should talk to Kaitlin. Also, Kaitlin will run a Mage campaign over the summer. Speaking of summer, a hrsfa-summer list will start existing eventually, and people staying in Boston over the summer should subscribe to it, and post to it rather than to -social. More on that coming later. Writers' SIG will meet on Tuesday at 9:30pm. Library wants you to update the Wiki with books that you want, for either the HRSFA library or Lamont! And now, the fires of hell (equivalently, of physics midterm) await me, and I cannot escape their call. Ah the joy of permanent magnets inside magnetically permeable materials... Elena. P.S. Kicking happened in spirit. So did burninating. Munchies happened in body, too. _______________________________________________ hrsfa-announce mailing list hrsfa-announce@lists.hcs.harvard.edu http://lists.hcs.harvard.edu/mailman/listinfo/hrsfa-announce
