Claudia Mastroiani says "Let there be meeting."  And there is.


There is a brief discussion of the new first-year attendees. 
The general consensus is that new members are both plentiful and cool.

Raiders of the Lost Ark was shown, and grossed about $300.  The Jansport Grand Prize Winner(TM) was in attendance.

A plug is made for any who want to submit stories or art to Fusion.  Also, ad-sellers will get a commission for new ads brought in.

The Coming of the Hour and Wyld Hunt are described in a manner as to make them seem a lot stranger than they really are.

Chris Hernandez's mandatory party will be Oct. 8 at 8pm.  It will feature the "Golden Schwa" award to the most deserving first-year partygoer.

A membership spiel is made.  After this meeting, price of membership goes up to $8.

There have been numerous oddities with the HRSFA mailing list lately, including an Anime Argh-like number of repeats of some messages.  It's not our fault.


SIG Reports:

	- Writer's SIG will meet.
	- Star Trek watched the season premiere of Deep Space 9.
	- BBC wandered around until they found TV for Prisoner, Red Dwarf, Hitchikers'.
	Cyrus Mody has taken "temporary" control of the SIG.
	- MST3K enjoyed Warrior of the Lost World, a movie featuring a firebreathing dump truck.
	- Gaming SIG:
		BearMeatWorld began numerous individual agendas.
		"I am NOT a Viking" World gained and lost a player.
		Chris H. is looking for players for GURPS Apocalypse.  Now.
		David Kammler is running a GURPS medieval fantasy game.
		Aaron Mandel is running a Chaosium dark fantasy game.
		Jade and Silver is described in a sinister fashion by Sydney Freedberg.
		Dean talks about Magic:the Gathering.
	- The Game-a-thon is in a quantum mechanical state, say the gaming SIG folks.

A HRSFA delegation will be sent to the IgNobel prize awards on Thursday, 10/6.

There will be cartoons and fantasy/horror/s.f. type movies or something at the Brattle.  At least, that's what Zil says.

There is talk of people gathering to go to King Richard's Fair, a Renaissance type affaire.

Munchies convenes.
