Minutes, 16 October 1994 Recorded by Chris Exner --------------------------------------------------- Meeting Latins to order. E-mail carnage is discussed. First, a distinction is made between "hrsfa" (the account for HRSFA) and "hrsfa-list" (the mailing list). Then, endless bickering generates a set of guidelines for mailing list use: - Try to limit to one post per topic per day. - No flames to list. - No votes to list - send them to the taker of the vote. Formation of a HRSFA newsgroup or a second list is discussed. Little support manifests for either idea. Finally, it is voted to give officers authority over the mailing list. Not to be stopped by overlong debate, the movie slot is then discussed. After substantial silliness it is decided that money is more important than fun, and that Beauty and the Beast and The Terminator are our first and second choices to show. Zil and Kevin earn salaams for volunteering to coordinate postering. SIG Reports: BBC did Quad Trek, watching stuff. MST3K - one word: "Mitchell" oh, and "The Brain that Wouldn't Die" Anime - Naussica, Supergal. Gaming SIG - Magic: the Gathering has gathered, magically. Ravenloft wants some fresh blood for the game. BearMeatWorld met some old, dead friends. "I am NOT a Viking" World met. The Wyld Hunt is to be Thursday Oct. 20. Suit-down time is 7pm. Location: Dunster C-43. Dress is comfy shoes and as little else as is legal. The Coming of the Hour will be in that hard-to-describe time that is both Saturday night and Sunday morning, Oct. 29th. The HRSFA delegation to the IgNobel prizes was...well...a HRSFA delegation to the IgNobel prizes. Another HRSFA delegation is being nucleated to go watch the opening of the movie "Puppet Masters" based on the Heinlein book. "HRSFA will commit a felony from 8-10 pm, Fri. and Sat., in Science Center C." Chris Exner Internal Secretary
