Minutes, 24 November 1996 Recorded by Susan Marie Groppi, mailed to hrsfa-announce 24 November --------------------------------------------------- HRSFA Minutes, 24 November Meeting called to order despite the fact that only ten people are in attendance. The re-cataloging of the current collection in the library is complete. Cataloging of the new books will occur sometime during reading period, so that more people will have less potential scheduling conflicts. Comics update: Last we heard, The Museum of Words and Pictures was considering hiring more staff and building an addition to handle the collection. We may not have to find a way to bring them to Harvard, but we're still looking into it anyway. We need to find a way to make meetings more interesting. We've gotten all serious, and that has to stop. A motion is made that we amend the Constitution to include more references to Czechoslovakia. Kyle is reminded that once, a long time ago, he promised to bring to a meeting the full conjugation of the Greek verb "to be crushed by a large war machine". He says he'll get right on it. Obviously, it's all the scapegoat's fault. Meetings are dull because we don't have a scapegoat on premises. Claudia is volunteered to be our proxy scapegoat while Gleeson is off somewhere that is not Harvard. Claudia objects but is overruled. We're working on founding an alumni association. (yes, we're still working on it.) For clarification: we're allowed to know about them, play with them, invite them to tap-dance at meetings. They just have to be administratively separate from HRSFA in order to raise money for us. SIG Reports. Game-a-thon is coming up soon. Claudia wants to run live-action Clue. Anyone who wants to co-run, contact her. (cmarie@max.tiac.net) Bizarreness SIG is holding an Eye of Argon reading contest immediately following the meeting. Star Trek: There was a movie, and it was good. Gaming SIG: --Ravenloft hosed themselves before Lee could even do anything. --Alexei's campaign is setting forth in a Viking longboat. --There were reports of multiple Mage games, but I was sort of distracted by thoughts of my impending tutorial paper. Mea maxima culpa, but it's really all Claudia's fault, as the proxy scapegoat. --Aaron's campaign. Hosed hosed hosed. Alexei crushed his own larynx. --Matt Ender might be able to run Vampire soon. The Ibis was stolen, and we didn't even have anything to do with it. Very impressive. Motion to summon Cthulu in the Yard. Vote: no. Meeting adjourned to reading contest. -- Susan ------------------------------------------------------------------------ "The body is a dance.
