From ricard@fas.harvard.edu Thu Dec 3 14:47:35 1998 Date: Sun, 11 Oct 1998 21:21:28 -0400 (EDT) From: Heartless Guttersnipe To: Hrsfa-Announce Subject: [HRSFA-Ann.] Minutes: 10/11/98 Igs: The IgNobels happened. Much duct tape was used. We launched into a long discussion about the grizzly bear armor guy. The MIT people who often attend the Coming and Goings of Hours were the security at the Igs. Wyld Hunt: It is occurring the 24th of October. There has been a motion to have it very early so that alums who have other things to do that night can attend. The opposing view is that it may not be very dark, there will be lots of people to shove out of the way and undergrads would like to be able to eat beforehand. We voted to run at 8 instead of 9 like usual. Coming of the Hour: Is, um, coming. Oct. 24. MIT Reading Series: Pat Cadigan was the latest author. She autographed books for the Hrsfa library. All Ciaraldi books have been catalogued. Yay! Bab5: Will start Oct. 28. Is anyone able to reserve a room? Fusion: 2 people showed up at the last meeting. We voted to give Kelly $20 for submission posters. BBC sig: There is renewed interest. Much may occur if Drew and Claudia have anything to do with it. Cool Movie Psig: What's a good day for people? Writers Sig: "will not meet tomorrow, but next week," promises Matt. Anime Sig: Is still feeding off of the Anime society. Dusty Old Books: Ender's game (sorry, couldn't help it). There are 12 players currently, but new players are welcome to join anytime. It runs every other Sunday from 6-10pm (not meeting Sundays). Can anyone get a room for Matt? There was an impromptu Shadowrun game Tuesday night that lasted until 6 in the morning courtesy of Kyle's books. Are there undergrad run games going on? Well, that's it.
