From ricard@fas.harvard.edu Thu Dec 3 14:43:24 1998 Date: Sun, 22 Nov 1998 20:35:07 -0500 (EST) From: Lori Ricard To: Hrsfa-Announce Subject: [HRSFA-Ann.] Minutes 11/22/98 We had an actual agenda (forced upon us by ex-co-chair and co-wank emeritus Kyle Niedzwiecki). There was rejoicing in hell. Masq: Will happen sometime in February. Matt and Marshall agreed to organize it. Matt Duhan will make 3 CDs for Hrsfa of traditional Masq music. We want Loker again. There will be more posted on this as the time comes. 24 hour Sci Fi Marathon: Will happen at Coolidge Corner President's Day weekend. We will try not to have the Masq conflict with this. Officer Elections: Are coming very shortly. Consider if you would like to run or nominate someone else to run. Library: Slowly but surely. If you have a stack of Ciaraldi cards, please get those lists to Marshall (mperrin@hcs). Fusion: The UC gave us $500 to put out 2 Fusions this year. We approve of putting out one issue with odd number pages and one with even numbered ones. 2 issues. Arisia: The cheap payment deadline has been extended to 11/30. Star Wars: The trailer is out. It looks awesome. We want to see it now. Star Trek: Comes out Dec. 11. There will be an outing. We hope that the odd/even movie pattern is broken. Bab5: Well, Quincy JCR has no cable. The rec room supposedly has a satellite hookup. MST3K: Jason Morrow has his tapes from Tennessee. Things will happen. Writers: Tomorrow at 8 in the Science Center. X Files: No Sig meeting tonight, but there is an episode at 9. Cool Movie Psig: Apathy rules the day. Are people still interested? Anime: Giant Robo taping (cryptic yes, but I think I was distracted at that point) Gaming: There was a mini GAT that went pretty successfully. Live Action Clue was played. There were a number of suggestions: More Cheapass games at Gameathons, people should bring games to play after hrsfa meetings, we will beam upon people who buy cheapass games and donate them to hrsfa, it will be decided if the next gameathon will be held during reading period or intersession. Dusty Old Books: 3 people are still insane and they actually found a dusty old book. Yay! Teenagers from Outer Space: They have reached the 2nd day of school. Homecoming is approaching. Lori ************************************************************************************************ "I don't know if you have wash-days," she said to the two Goblins who were now sitting smugly on the soft pink blanket. "But if you do, remember that you never wash blankets in boiling water." ************************************************************************************************ [This is the HRSFA announcement list.
