Minutes, 6 December 1998 Recorded by Lori Ricard Sent to hrsfa-announce, 7 Dec 1998, 07:36 _________________________________________________________________________ I was particularly thrilled to note, that at the beginning of the meeting, there were more girls than boys. Yay hrsfa! Bizarreness Sig provided us with a door guardian in the shape of Matt Ender who challenged each comer to either fight him or Darth Vader. Those who fought Darth seemed to get off rather easier. Matt challenged himself and won at the beginning of the meeting. NOMINATION MEETING Our next meeting will be our nomination meeting (Feb. 7). Anyone with an interest, please run! To be an officer, you must be a non-Senior undergrad and a paid member (paid by time of the vote). The officers will put out info about nominations and their offices shortly. OLD MINUTES: Are now on the Web, courtesy of Matt Withers. MASQ As no one expressed any prefereces date-wise, the availability of Loker for the two weekends around Valentine's Day will be looked into. Many have volunteered to make food, but we need someone in charge of food (mostly drinks, as these always seem to vanish long before the food). Matt Duhan will post regarding the music cd. We also need someone to write the skit! We are considering trying for publicity on this event. Many avow that it does no good though. STAR TREK The next Star Trek movie, Star Trek: Insurrection, comes out Friday. Igor is trying to determine where it will be playing and will email the list. If we get 30 people to go, we get a group discount, so everyone bring many friends. LIBRARY: If you took notecards to catalog, please bring them back! ARISIA 2nd weekend in January. You want to go to this. SIGS: BIZARRENESS SIG: Brings our door guardian and this lovely weather. BAB 5 is over. Claudia will be hosting a viewing of the last episode and will post the list about this. MST3K: What time would be good for people? COOL MOVIE PSIG is currently on hold. WRITERS Is meeting regularly on Mondays and will meet today. More people are always welcome. XFILES Meets 9 pm in the Rec Room in Quincy. FUSION Needs more submissions. Pretty please. GAMING Fall Gameathon will occur before the next meeting at the end of Intersession. It will meet for a four day weekend, making it the longest gameathon ever. There will be a new set of rules for Live Action Clue in which anyone can kill! Dusty Old Books: Still looking for a room for next semester. The players met aliens and robot-spiders. "No civilization would develop mass transit and not be able to make a rope." Matt Ender (ender@ptc.com) Teenagers from Outer Space: Homecoming Queen's got a gun: Clarissa busily took out the competition for Queen, but was eventually caught and her hands glued to her face. Next was a visit to Joe something's Pools and Sinks where characters were changed into other things like tortoises and badgers and time was screwed with. The game is searching for more player for Spring semester. Matt Duhan (fringe@shore.net) Shadowrun: Has changed meeting time, so it does not conflict with meeting. The players are pretty stupid, doing things like hovering outside the 36th floor window of the bad guy's hideout. Chris Hall (crhall@fas) AD&D campaign: Metaphysical with hard to understand plots. Can maybe absorb new players. Kevin Gold (kgold@fas) Lori ************************************************************************************************ "I don't know if you have wash-days," she said to the two Goblins who were now sitting smugly on the soft pink blanket. "But if you do, remember that you never wash blankets in boiling water." ************************************************************************************************ [This is the HRSFA announcement list.
