Minutes, 99-12-12 Recorded by Tse Wei Lim Sent to hrsfa-announce, 13 Dec 20:12 ____________________________________________________________________ Agenda - 3rd List T-Shirt Fusion SIGs Bryn told a sad holiday story. =( It involved her roommate and a tree. Unfortunately, it did not involve Cthulu, which is why it was a sad holiday story. Meeting opened with a reading from the book of Mozilla. General announcements - Next meeting will be on the first Sunday of Spring semester, if Cthulu hasn't risen yet. The Masquerade will possibly be on the 26th of February, again if Cthulu hasn't risen yet. January 6th is Sherlock Holmes' birthday. Read a good mystery on the 6th. Cthulu will not rise today. He will be reading The Sign of Four. 3rd List - HRSFA is getting a 3rd mailing list/newsgroup. This will probably be something like hrsfa-social@hcs. The purpose of this list is to provide an outlet for people to post stuff like "I need to game. Now. Who's interested?" and "I'm watching Mononoke Wednesday night. People?" Basically, where you ask people if they're free to do stuff. There are 2 main reasons for this. 1) Most people don't know you can and should post this stuff to discuss. 2) If people did post this stuff to discuss, that might miff some of the alums who aren't in the Cambridge area. And there will be Cthuloid rage. Basically, you will know when this is set up, because there will be a huge mailing to discuss. Also, note that for big events, such as going to signings or starting campaigns, the correct list to use is still announce. Scapegoat - After a long and thorough investigation by agents of the officers, including much use of big black helicopters of doom, it has been determined that Stven Padnick, the former HRSFA Scapegoat, is utterly and totally blameless. Our new official Scapegoat, Chris Hall, apologises profusely for this and all other errors. Especially the Cthulu one. T-Shirts - Send your designs to mperrin@fas. NOW. Especially if you can draw Cthulu. Or even if you can't, you are hereby charged with finding someone who can draw (Cthulu or anything else), and telling them what to draw, and sending the result to mperrin@fas. NOW. Fusion - Has received *yay* submissions. Kelly, however, will probably still take submissions, especially if you're nice to her. Write stage@fas to be nice. The deadline for cover art is Wednesday. The same thing applies for cover art as for the T-shirts. Though maybe not Cthulu. Printing him may be prohibitively expensive. SIG reports - Were limited to 30 seconds each by the Cthuloid Co-Chair. B5 - Babathon this weekend. Newbie fest happened. Buffy - Has been happening. Tuesdays. You know the drill. Milk & Cookies - Is happening this Friday. Same Cthulu time, same Cthulu channel. Cool Movies - Is happening this Thursday, showing The Wizard of Speed and Time. Location TBA. MST3K - Has completed the movie script. Still writing skit. Still building set. Or trying to find someone to. Big pieces of wood in library belong to MST3K. Do not be alarmed. They are not a sign of Cthulu's impending rising. Filming in January/Febuary. Anime - Almost done for the semester. Finished Nadesico. Currently showing Kanekano - which is a schoolgirl story, two thirds of which is just monologues by the main character, who is totally evil, but cute. Like Cthulu. Bizarreness - Did not report. Which was in itself, bizarre. Writers - Has met. Will continue to meet. Dancing on Graves - Would like to remind you that whereever you dance on New Year's Eve, you're dancing on Asimov's grave. Gaming - MiniGAT happened. It was good. There were people, there were games - Vampire, RoboRally, Collateral Damage, and the traditional Cheapass blowout. AD & D campaign is starting. Write to hershb@fas. TFOS is looking for people. Write to fringe@shore.net. The last term ended spectacularly when the group battled a teacher who turned into an evil blob thingy - unfortunately, they were promptly expelled for this misbehaviour. Shadowrun is looking for exactly 1 person. Write to twlim@fas - regular running time is Saturday from one till 5 or 6. There will be a GAT during reading period or intersession. Watch for news. These seconds were brought to you by the letters C, T, H, U, L and U. And the number 13.
